Remember the "Big Fun" remake by D.O.N.S.? How about "Soul Heaven" from Henrik B? Who can't! Both of these tracks stayed in my playlist for an extended amount of time.I first heard "Soul Heaven" on Ministry Of Sound Radio during the summer of 2007. It was either on Andy Norman's (Hed Kandi) or Jazzy M's (Oh Zone) radio show. I remember having goose bumps when first hearing it."Soul Heaven" ranks as 1 of my all time favorite tracks. It's a bit nostalgic for me and the vibe is reminiscent to the earlier days of House Music.
I recently had the opportunity to interview songstress Terri B!, the voice behind these massive tracks. I have to admit that until "Soul Heaven" I didn't really know very much about Terri B!. Information was sparse and the only other familiar track to me was "Big Fun".
You can hear "Big Fun" in the mix Download section. The mix name is discowhore. "Soul Heaven" can be heard on "Groovin Like A Muthafucka" or G.L.A.M. for short. Clicking on the mix names or the "Downloads" link in the Menu bar up above can also get you to these mixes.I got a sneak peak at some on the up and coming releases from Terri B!. There are several tracks you should look out for. Some of my favs include "Running", "Attitude", ""Hold Me" the Craig Obey & Marco Demark Remix and the "Oh La La La" remixes. It's easy to identify a track sung by Terri B!. Terri B! differs from others with her powerful voice and emotional writing style. She has etched her name along those House Music legends we know and love.
You can find Terri B! at www.myspace.com/terribjerre and on http://www.terri-green.com/. Terri B! also has Twitter page at http://twitter.com/terrigreenproj
"Soul Heaven" can be purchased @ traxsource or beatport.

[Ronnie Escobedo] I understand there is an album in the works. Can you give us some insight into, The Terri Green Project . What can we expect? Who were some of the collaborators? Any remixes?
[Terri B!] The Terri Green Project is my alter ego. It is truly some of my most passionate work I've ever done, and of course challenging. It isn't solely dance or pop, so I had to really re-evaluate my writing style and melodies to compliment this adult contemporary set of tunes.
This album will be a visit to the past but not focused on it entirely. I covered Donna Summer’s, “On the Radio”, because as a writer and since childhood, I thought the lyrics were phenomenal and that it would be the great cover contribution I wanted to make. I think it will be a killer remix.
I co-wrote 9 of the 10 songs and they swing from classic dance pop, with orchestral movements to pumping danceable numbers that you immediately know you have to hear live. It was just a dream come true. I collaborated with some really talented people and the result is right on time.
[Ronnie Escobedo] Where did the inspiration come from for this album?
[Terri B!] My mom, as cliché as it sounds. I have cut so many successful house tunes, but she felt I never slowed it down and stopped wailing. She wanted me to do a record that showcased my warmer alto and that was not as quick in tempo. She got it.

[Ronnie Escobedo] What was the most challenging from the norm of working with producers and making single dance tracks VS. making an album?
[Terri B!] Working all over the planet. Jochen Mueller a talented engineer and producer was in Brisbane. Cindy Lauper's producer Johan Boback lives in Stockholm. Torsten Abrolat, who also executive produced in Hamburg, and Stephen Dorf , a phenomenal writer, collaborated with me in both Warsaw and LA. It was just a huge honnor to work with people I love and admire.
[Ronnie Escobedo] How did your career in House Music start? What was D.O.N.S. role during the beginning of your career and how did you guys connect?
[Terri B!] An accidental no.1 in Spain with 2 Eivissa, “Oh La La La” spread quickly to many countries and caught me off guard. I was teaching and working and not focused on music.
At the same time, a small studio job with Future Breeze, a trance group, gave me a Top 10 in Germany with “Keep the Fire Burning” and it just went on and on. Jerry Ropero and I cut “Get Down” as Avant Garde with a big mac one night and it became a huge club anthem. I really didn’t focus on it but I just kept having great success with releases. When “Nothing I Wont Do” a track done with Special D. became a hit in the Netherlands I then said okay now I should probably focus and start to create a brand for myself.
DONS, producer Oliver Goedicke was not only a good friend but we just accidentally cut “Big Fun”. No one believed in this track, until it was no.1 or 2, (can't remember) in the DDC in Germany. It was recently just rated one of the top covers by DEEJAY MAG. We are crazy happy that we trusted our instincts.
“Soul Heaven”, took me a year to cut with Henrick B, but it sparked international interest into who is Terri B!. Then came John Dahlback, Kurd Maverick (Rise), Raul Rincon (Sometimes) and my idol Roger Sanchez. Its just been crazy. I thank Jerry Ropero my friend for connecting me and forcing me to stand out and up. He is a great friend as is Oliver of DONS.

[Ronnie Escobedo] Most of your success has been in Germany and Europe. What would attribute your German/ European success to? What have been some of your challenges in the States?
[Terri B!] Well, I've had success in the States lately with Henrik B and “Soul Heaven”, before as Avant Garde, and even as 2 Eivissa which topped on the Billboard club charts. It just wasn’t my focus. I loved working with my friends in hip hop studios and being diverse in the States and then doing my European thing. I never got caught up on where I was…I'm just never home…ouch.
[Ronnie Escobedo] Your current tour schedule is pretty impressive. Will there be a tour to support the new album, The Terri Green Project?
[Terri B!] We are now organizing and conceptualizing the album for Terri Green but she can't get in the way of 4 major releases I have right now, DONS “You use to hold me”, ROGER Sanchez “Bang That Box”, Eric Smax “Must Be the Music”, and 1 of my favorites “Can't Slow Down”, Johan Dahlback, Diaz, and Young Rebel. It's really hectic. I write for other artist during free time and I have a pop rock artist coming out soon named Jennifer Stevens. She really rocks!
[Ronnie Escobedo] What would you change about the current EDM Scene or Industry? Why?
[Terri B!] Well if we start to get too glamorous, we lose the raw edge of deejaying and singing.
I think we have to keep a bit of the grass root feeling like OBAMA in the election. People have to know they can ask you to play a song or discuss trends openly. We gotta maintain a status that we are there for the fans and listeners.
Dance is on a great upward cycle again and I am excited to see where we take it. People are bored with other music styles so I think some things will happen naturally.
[Ronnie Escobedo] You work with an array of well named producers and or remixers in the EDM scene. Plus you travel extensively. What advice would you like to give to aspiring singer/songwriters?
[Terri B!] What goes up comes down. Just when you want to act like you are hugely successful and can't sign an autograph or answer a myspace request…just stop..and remember this is all temporary. Be cool and be easy.
[Ronnie Escobedo] What is one thing that people don't know about you that you would like them to know?
[Terri B!] I never thought I would earn money with my voice.
[Ronnie Escobedo] Has Ollie Goedicke told you what D.O.N.S stands for?
[Terri B!] Yes, Design ON Sound. It's so clever.
[Ronnie Escobedo] What is currently on your Ipod? Well of course besides the latest discowhore.com podacast.

[Terri B!] Faith hill, beats and tracks from deejays I need to work on, J-LO, Beyonce, Rihanna, Carpenters, Mica Paris, Etta James, Blow Monkeys, Level 42…it’s a complete mess.
[Ronnie Escobedo] Anything you would like to tell your fans?
[Terri B!] Thank all five of them. No just kidding. I am so proud to exist in this business. Honestly.
[Ronnie Escobedo] When and where can someone buy the new album?
[Terri B!] After the 1st of 2009 visit http://www.terri-green.com/ for the adult stuff and www.myspace.com/terribjerre is where anyone can just holler at me. Ollie is so so good at answering and reading his fan mail so I try to do it on long trips too…its so cool.
